Policeman killed in South Sudan’s Lakes state
Match 30, 2016 (WAU) – A policeman was on Thursday shot dead by an unknown gunman in South Sudan’s Lakes state capital, Rumbek, family members disclosed.
The deceased, Deng Nyibang Deng, hailed from Western Bahr el Ghazal state.
A relative of the deceased, speaking on condition of anonymity, decried the recentg killings, which have allegedly targeted people from Western Bahr el Ghazal state.
“This matter now is spoiling our relationship with Lakes state and this matter has to be handled with care,” he stressed, adding “We cannot now say we are now in harmony with people from Rumbek”,
This is reportedly the third time such an incident has happened in Lakes state.
Officials from the two neighbouring states are yet to officially react on the matter.
