SPLM-N fighters repel new attacks in South Kordofan: Lodi
April 24, 2016 (KHARTOUM) – The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement- North (SPLM-N) spokesperson Sunday said they repelled an attack by the government forces on their positions west of Kadugli, South Kordofan state.
“On 24/4/2016 at 10;00 am, SPLM-N forces west of Kadugli sector in the Nuba Mountains, South Kordofan under the command of Brg. Gen/ Logole Darot repulsed and dispersed (a Sudanese government ) military convoy that attempted to occupy Lima area west of Kadugli city,” said Arnu Ngutulu Lodi.
Lodi added they killed a large number of the government troops without further details, and destroyed two vehicles, adding the wounded were evacuated by two helicopters.
Also, he said that four SPLA-N fighters were killed during the attack.
The Sudanese army and allied militia carry out a large-scale military campaign on the SPLM-N positions in the Blue Nile and South Kordofan states targeting the rebel areas near the border with the south Sudan.
However, the SPLM-N says they have successfully repulsed the multiform attacks and captured huge amount of weapons and ammunitions.
Nonetheless, Khartoum army pursues its daily air raids and ground operations on the SPLM-N controlled areas in the Two Areas.
On Friday, Lodi said a Sudanese military airplane on 17 April dropped six bombs on Nyukur area in Delami County wounding three civilians among them a child.
On 19 April, an Antonov dropped four bombs on Kurchi area and two bombs into Hajar-katuka village.
He added that on 21April It hit Um Serdiba with two bombs, Taulow with six bombs, Troge in Buram County with four bombs.
