S. Sudan sets up joint integrated police command
June 11, 2016 (JUBA) – South Sudan Transitional National Unity Government has, in a bid to enhance security, set up a joint integrated police command and operation centre.
Information minister, Michael Makuei Lueth said the integrated units were established after the defense and interior ministers presented security their reports.
“In the security report, it is reported that the joint integrated police, the command and the leadership of the joint integrated police it is already established, and the joint operation command is established,” he told CRS radio.
The police personnel, he further disclosed, are currently undergoing trainings, adding that they would take full charge of the security situation in Juba upon graduation.
Meanwhile, Makuei told reporters on Friday that the country’s cabinet had approved the provision of fuel and oil lubricants for farmers using government-provided tractors.
