Staffs from the ministry staffs have openly criticized the recent appointment of Joseph Agum Kuc as acting director general.

Agum, a grade four level civil servant, was the ministry’s director for administration and finance. He replaces Joseph Marial who now teaches at Rumbek University.

According to the minister, Makuet was appointed by the council of ministers the decision taken was administrative.

“All directors are appointed by the council of ministers; I have limited powers for resigning appointed directors,” he said.

The minister described Agum as a “hardworking” person who is committed at all times.

“Anyone who does not support her [Agum] appointment will be upon their choice, but my choice is that Agum is capable and she deserves the position,” stressed Makuet.
