Five companies present offers for second operator of fixed phone in Sudan
KHARTOUM, Aug 31, 2004 (SUNA) — Five companies have presented offers for the second operator of fixed phone. The five companies were announced in a ceremony organized by the National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) Tuesday after sorting the bids in the presence of Minister of Information and Communication Al-Zahawi Ibrahim Malik and State Minister at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy Dr. Hassan Ahmed Taha.
The companies that presented their offers are the Satellite Telecommunication Company with a license at the value of 100 million euros, the Sudanese-Egyptian Telecommunication Company 25 million euros, Al-Ashraf Company 55 million euros, Al-Betriq Development Company 30 million euros and Toma Engineering Company 20 million euros.
NTC Director General Engineer Al-Tayeb Mustafa said in his address to the occasion that the offers would be referred to a technical committee for assessment prior to announcing the winner company as soon as possible.
