Assad made the remarks while receiving visiting Sudanese Interior Minister Abdel Rahim Mohamed Hussein.

Hussein presented Assad a letter from Sudanese President Omar Hassan el-Bashir on the situation in Darfur and the negotiations for realizing peace and security in the region.

He also briefed Assad on Sudan’s stance on Darfur.

Hussein and his accompanying delegation arrived here Sunday from Jordan for a two-day visit.

Sudan has said it is fully prepared for cooperation with the international community in restoring peace, easing the humanitarian crisis and reaching a comprehensive political solution to the troubled west Darfur region.
