Al-Bashir receives delegation of eastern Sudan states

KHARTOUM, Sep 24, 2004 (SUNA) — President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir has affirmed that the government will deal firmly with those who attempt to undermine the security and stability of the country.

Receiving a delegation of the political, executive and popular leaderships of the east Sudan states at the Council of Ministers Thursday, President Al-Bashir described the recently aborted sabotage plot of the Popular Congress as a crime that had been targeting the innocent people.

President Al-Bashir pointed out that there are foreign circles hostile to Sudan who fans the fire of sedition through baseless and unfounded allegations.

President Al-Bashir said that great development will be effected in eastern Sudan, announcing setting up of a committee at the level of the federal government for boosting development there.

Meanwhile, representative of the delegation Abu Ali Magzoub said that the people of east Sudan with their various affiliations strongly condemn the recent aborted sabotage plot, saying that the plot had targeted security and stability in the county.
