Iranian president to visit Sudan on Monday
KHARTOUM, Oct 2, 2004 (SUNA) — Iranian President Mohammed Khatami is to begin Monday a three-day visit to Sudan during which he will hold talks with President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir on bilateral relations and means of boosting them further and regional and international issues of mutual concern.
The Iranian President will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi and Minister of Agriculture Hogati.
Meanwhile, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Sudan, Hameed Bayat, said in a statement to SUNA that the visit of President Khatami to Sudan comes in the context of the developed relations between the two countries.
He said a number of commercial, economic, cultural and political agreements would be signed during the visit, pointing out that the visit would give strong boost to the bilateral relations.
