Eritrea denies reported Libyan protest over Sudanese opposition leader statement
ASMARA, Oct 29, 2004 (Shaibat.com) A responsible source in the [Eritrean] Ministry of Foreign Affairs dismissed that the Libyan Embassy in Asmara submitted a protest regarding the statements made by the Secretary General of the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement, Dr. Khalil Ibrahim, about the five African state summit held recently in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.
The Internet website [Sudanese Media Center] (SMC) [a pro-Sudanese government news portal] had published a news item to this effect, but the Eritrean Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to emphasize that it didn’t receive any such protest from the Libyan Embassy in Asmara. It stressed that what was published in the said Internet website is a fabrication and baseless.
The source added that Eritrean- Libyan relations are model and are developing continually in the interest of the brotherly peoples of Eritrea and Libya.
It is to be stressed that the (SMC) website in the Internet which attempted to propagate the fabricated news belongs to terrorist groups, and it is known for forging and disseminating subversive news as well as marketing extremist ideas.
Some sources indicate that the Sudanese security forces directly supervise the above mentioned website within the Khartoum regime?s strategy of establishing a special section under the title ?the electronic security? with the aim of spreading conflicts and poisoning relations of states and peoples by propagating such baseless and fabricated lies.
