Plan worked out to enhance work of Sudan Airways: minister
KHARTOUM, Nov 7, 2004 (SUNA) — The Minister of Aviation, Ali Tamim Fartak, said that an ambitious plan has been worked out to enhance the work of Sudan Airways Company by introduction of new planes and attracting new strategic partners to be share holders in the company’s capital.
At a press conference he held Sunday, the minister said that the company will be re-structured, as the number of its employees, 2015, will be reduced. Fartak said that a plan has been made to introduce new 11 planes for internal and external flights.
He said that a new air company will be established through partnership between Sudan government and strategic local and foreign partners to replace the existing company, adding that the government will contribute by 30% to the company’s capital, while the private sector and foreign partners will contribute to the capital by 21% and 49%, respectively.
The minister said that the total of Sudan Airways Company’s debts is 65 million dollars, adding that arrangements are being made to reschedule these debts.
