Iran, Sudan call for expansion of parliamentary cooperation
TEHRAN, Nov 7, 2004 (IRNA) — Sudanese ambassador to Tehran, Hamed Ali Muhammad al-Tani conferred here Sunday with Vice-President for legal and parliamentary affairs, Majid Ansari, on expansion of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

According to the Press Bureau at the Presidential Office, at the meeting, Ansari highlighted the status of African countries in Iran’s foreign policy and called for further expansion of ties between Tehran and Khartoum.
Given ample untapped economic potentials in the two countries, he called for further expansion of mutual cooperation in investments, reconstruction as well as development projects.
He called for consolidation of ties and unity among Islamic countries to help preserve the independence of Muslims round the world which should be considered as a significant pole in globalization procedures.
The Sudanese ambassador, for his part, voiced the willingness of his country’s official to upgrade the current level of relations between the two countries.
In conclusion, he called for benefiting from existing capabilities as well as experiences of the Islamic Republic of Iran in attaining further development and success.
