Abuja deals will be the seed of peace in Sudan’s Darfur: Beshir

KHARTOUM, Nov 13, 2004 (SUNA) — President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir has congratulated the Sudanese people in an address to the nation Saturday on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, wishing Sudan peace, prosperity and accord.

Al-Bashir reviewed in his address developments in the country, pointing out that the agreement signed in Abuja Nigeria, recently on Darfur would be the seed of peace that would prevail all over the country.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the agreements signed in Abuja, calling on all other parties to be committed to the accords.

President Al-Bashir urged all the Sudanese people to extend support to their brothers in Darfur. In this connection, President Al-Bashir said the Eid comes as peace becomes at hand.

Meanwhile, President Al-Bashir hailed the Palestinian people and their new leadership, reiterating Sudan’s support to their just right of establishing their independent state with Al Quda as its capital.
