Abdulrahaman_Saeed.jpgCAIRO, Nov 15, 2004 (DUP website) — The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) — a Sudanese opposition alliance — has welcomed the signing of the security and humanitarian protocols between the Sudanese government and the armed groups in Darfur, western Sudan.

NDA’s vice-chairman and the head of the political committee Lt-Gen Abdelrahman Saeed yesterday expressed hope that a third protocol regarding political issues will be signed to end Darfur crisis.

Abdelrahman said that NDA blesses and supports anything that unites the people of Sudan. He said the problems in Sudan should be resolved through dialogue, a comprehensive political solution, an end to bloodshed and to all hostilities.

He stressed that NDA blesses and supports all the steps which assist in resolving the crisis in Sudan such as the all-inclusive Darfur conference to be held after Id al-Fitr celebrations in Tripoli, Libya.
