Traffic accident kills 27, injures 44 in Khartoum

KHARTOUM, Nov 18, 2004 (Xinhua) — A traffic accident killed 27 people and injured 44 others Thursday morning at the southern suburb of Khartoum, capital of Sudan, the Sudanese News Agency reported.

Mohamed Abdel Majeed, the Sudanese traffic general manager, was quoted as saying that the accident took place on the Medani- Khartoum road when a mini-bus collided head-on with a bus coming from the opposite direction.

A Russian national called Altina Aross was among the dead, Abdel Majeed said
