Former Sudanese vice-president Lagu returns home
KHARTOUM, Nov 19, 2004 (Sudanese radio) — The former vice-president of the republic, Gen Joseph Lagu, has returned to the country at the invitation of the chairman of Southern States Coordination Council (SSCC).
This comes in the framework of promoting peace process in the country.
He was received at Khartoum airport by the representative of the SSCC chairman, SSCC secretary for security affairs and a number of ministers and officials at the SSCC.
In a statement, Lagu said his return comes in the framework of pursuing dialogue with the aimed of enhancing unity. He said he was aspiring to take part in development and peace processes.
