Sudanese VP praises efforts of committees for amendment of constitution
KHARTOUM, Dec 2, 2004 (SUNA) — The First Vice-President, Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, has praised the efforts being made by the specialized technical committees for amendment of the Constitution and laws so as to cope with the peace protocols.
In a press statement after a meeting of the higher committee for amendment of laws, chaired by the First Vice-President Thursday at the Republican Palace, the Minster of Justice, Ali Mohamed Osman Yassin, said that the committee has conducted amendment in 42 laws in a manner which comply with the peace protocols.
He said that the committee has felt the need to make amendment in some items in the Constitution in order to cope with the protocols of peace. Yassin affirmed the readiness of the Ministry of Justice to perform its role in full toward boosting peace in the country.
