Ethiopian prime minister receives Khartoum state governor

ADDIS ABABA, Dec 3, 2004 (SUNA) — Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi Thursday received Khartoum State Wali (governor), Abdel-Haleem Al Mutafi, at the conclusion of his visit to Ethiopia at the invitation of the governor of Oromo region.

Al Mutafi has conveyed President Omer Al Bashir’s and First Vice President’s greetings to the Ethiopian Prime Minister.

Appreciated Ethiopian government and Oromo governor, Al Mutafi said the visit is a good start for cooperation between Khartoum State and Oromo region.

The Ethiopian Prime Minister, on his part, has described Ethio-Sudanese ties as firm and strategic and invited Sudanese businessmen to invest in Ethiopia. He hoped that cooperation between Khartoum State, Oromo region and Addis Ababa commission would prosper.

The meeting was attended by Sudan ambassador to Addis Ababa Osman Al-Sayed.
