Pakistani business delegation to visit Eritrea

ISLAMABAD, Dec 10, 2004 (Asia Pulse) — Pakistan will send a delegation of business and economic experts to Eritrea to explore and identify areas of cooperation between the two countries.

The decision to this effect came at a meeting of an Eritrean delegation with Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz at PM House here Wednesday.

The Prime Minister told the delegation, led by Alamin Mohammad Saeed, Secretary General of the Peoples Front for Democracy and Justice, that Pakistan has strong ties with African states and there was a need for strengthening the Muslim Ummah.

He said the Muslim states should work together to reflect the true image of Islam as a religion of peace and amity.

He believes that people to people contacts and strong business and economic linkages with Africa would strengthen the bilateral relations.

Prime Minister Aziz said Pakistan would help Eritrea in improving its economy, banking systems and business.

He said exchange of parliamentary delegations would also help a great deal in bringing the peoples of two countries closer.
