Sudan’s govt belittles influence of Kordofan rebel group

KHARTOUM, Dec 18, 2004 (Al-Khartoum) — Western Kordofan State government has belittled the influence of the activities of Al-Shahamah rebel group describing the group as being present in weak pockets and whose members are not more than “20,” especially following the death of the their leader, Musa Ali Hamadayn, last month at Warwar in Bahr-al-Ghazal.

Meanwhile, Al-Khartoum has learnt that Al-Shahamah had appointed a new leader following his death although the sources did not reveal his name.
