64 Ugandans due for repatriation from Sudan
KAMPALA, Uganda, Dec 22, 2004 (PANA) — Some 64 Ugandans are to be repatriated from Sudan in response to the Kampala’s amnesty law, an official at the Uganda Amnesty Commission said Wednesday here.
Commissioner Ganyana Miiro, who recently returned from the
southern Sudan town of Juba, said “the repatriation would be
facilitated by the donor community and the Sudanese government.”
Those due for repatriation were former rebels in the defunct West Nile Bank Front and the Uganda National Rescue Front, Miiro said.
“The exercise would consolidate peace in both countries,” he
added, without elaborating on the actual date of the
repatriation.
