Sudanese army denies suspension of AU Darfur mission
KHARTOUM, Dec 23, 2004 (SUNA) — An official source at the Armed Forces General Command has denied reports circulated by some news agencies that the African Union (AU) mission had suspended its activities in South Darfur, affirming that South Darfur sector is the most active one.
The source attributed the allegations to ill-intentioned circles, who attempt to portray the African Union mission as incapable of maintaining the security and stability to pave the way for intervention of some hostile countries.
