Yemeni leader, Ethiopian premier expected in Sudan for summit

KHARTOUM, Dec 23, 2004 (Sudanese radio) — Yemeni President Ali Abdallah Salih and Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi are expected to arrive in the country on Sunday 26 December to take part in the two-day Sanaa cooperation summit which will begin on Monday in Khartoum.

Somali President Abdullahi Yusuf is also expected to arrive in the country on Saturday evening. His country will take part in the summit as an observer.

The Sanaa cooperation summit, which will feature Sudan, Ethiopia, Yemen, and Somalia and Djibouti as observers, will discuss ways of strengthening political ties and achieving closer economic, social and cultural ties as well as support and develop peace, security and stability in the Horn of Africa and southern Red Sea region.
