Yemeni President arrives in Khartoum to participate in summit

Ali_A_Saleh.jpgKHARTOUM, Dec 27, 2004 (KUNA) — Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh arrived here on Sunday to participate in Sana’a Cooperation Grouping.

Saleh was received by his Sudanese counterpart Omar al-Bashir and a number of high-rank officials and diplomats in Khartoum.

The summit, which includes Sudan, Yemen, and Ethiopia, will continue for two days and will discuss the possibility of adopting an integrated vision for economic cooperation between the three countries, conflicts among the summit members, combating terror, and combating illegal trade of weapons.

The first summit took place in Sana’a in October 2002, while the second summit was held in Ethiopia in December 2003, where the leaders of the member countries signed an agreement to establish Sana’a Cooperation Grouping.
