Eritrean president receives message from Yemeni counterpart

ASMARA, Jan 1, 2005 (Eritrean radio) — Yemeni Foreign Minister Dr Abu-Bakr Abdallah al-Qirbi today, 1 January 2005, delivered a message from Yemeni President Ali Abdallah Salih to President Isayas Afewerki.

During their meeting, President Isayas and Dr Abu-Bakr Abdallah al-Qirbi discussed bilateral relations, the current situation of our region, particularly the Horn of Africa and Southern Red Sea.

It has been learnt that a joint committee that will work for the bolstering of bilateral cooperation between Eritrea and Yemen will soon meet in Asmara.

Dr Abu-Bakr Abdallah al-Qirbi returned back to his country this evening.
