A group of rebels arriving in off-road vehicles and trucks launched the attack on Wednesday morning, looting three pick-up trucks before police and armed tribal horsemen responded.
Two civilians were also wounded in the ensuing firefight.
The rebels fled with the three looted trucks, and the police and horsemen pursued them, the report said.
Independent Akhbar Al Youm daily, meanwhile, quoted civilians from Tulus District, where Jarrar is located, as saying nine rebels and two civilians were killed and a number of other civilians wounded.
