Sudanese govt, opposition NDA join committee to meet 1 February
KHARTOUM, Jan 18, 2005 (SUNA) — Head of the government’s delegation to talks with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Nafi Ali Nafi said that agreement was reached that the joint committee on arrangements concerning the arms holders in the NDA would begin its work on the first of next February to finalize its task prior to its final adoption on 12 February by the final signing of the agreement.

Nafi said in a press conference at Khartoum Airport following the return of the delegation from Cairo Monday 17 January that the ceremony of the final signing of the agreement between the government and the NDA would be attended by First Vice-President Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, who will sign on behalf of the government, while NDA chairman Mohamed Osman al-Mirghani will sign for the NDA.
Nafi hailed the role played by the Egyptian government and people in making the talks a success. He expressed hope that the Nairobi and Cairo agreements would be a great incentive for all opposition abroad to return home.
