Sudan seeks help in removing land-mines
KHARTOUM, Sudan, Feb 06, 2005 (UPI) — Sudan appealed Sunday for financial and technical assistance to remove land mines as soon as possible.
The coordinator for the Sudanese campaign to remove landmines, Zaki al-Jack, told the official Sudan News Agency the campaign’s plan includes clearing mines on the main roads in war-torn regions in the country.
He said the campaign also includes repatriating refugees in neighboring countries and alerting them to the dangers of mines, as well as providing medical services.
