Yemeni, Eritrean officials hold talks in Sanaa on ties
SANAA, Yemen, Feb 9, 2005 (SABA) — Yemen and Eritrea held here on Wednesday official talks on the fields of the bilateral relations and the current developments the Middle East and the Horn of African.
The talks were co-chaired by foreign minister Abu-Bakr al-Qirbi and his Eritrea counterpart Ali Sayyid Abdallah. Al-Qirbi underlined the importance of exchanging visits between officials of the two countries, indicating the historical relations and common interests linking the two countries.
He pointed out that the talks of presidents Ali Abdallah Salih and Isayas Afewerki, held in Sanaa last month, opened new horizons of bilateral cooperation between the two counties. The Eritrea foreign minister appreciated the role of Yemen in enhancing the security in the region and the Red Sea.
