Morocco, Sudan to strengthen judicial cooperation

Sd_justice_mi.jpgRABAT, Morocco, Feb 10, 2005 (PANA) — Morocco and the Sudan have signed a cooperation agreement covering civil, commercial and criminal laws as well as affairs falling under the family code and the extradition of indicted persons, the justice ministry said here
on Thursday.

Moroccan justice minister Mohamed Bouzoubaa and his visiting
Sudanese counterpart Ali Mohamed Othman Yassin signed the accords
in the Moroccan capital, the ministry said.

According to the ministry, the two parties also reviewed possible
cooperation between the Moroccan Higher Institute of Magistracy and the Sudanese Magistrate Training Institute.

In this regard, both countries agreed to exchange legal documents and publications and organise visits and missions for magistrates and other legal cadres, it added.

The two ministers commended their bilateral cooperation,
expressing their firm belief to develop and intensify this to
cover the various legal and judicial areas.

Yassin, who has been in Morocco since Tuesday, has visited the Supreme Court, the Higher Institute of the Magistracy and the Constitutional Council premises.
