India’s Ashok Leyland sells army vehicles to Sudan

BOMBAY, Feb 16 (Reuters) – Ashok Leyland Ltd., India’s second-biggest bus and truck maker, said on Wednesday it had signed an agreement to supply army trucks and buses to the Sudan Defence Ministry in a deal worth $10 million.

The firm will supply 100 Stallion trucks and 100 Falcon buses in the first phase of the deal, with an opportunity for an annual supply of 500 trucks and 500 buses, a statement said.

Shares in Ashok Leyland ended up 0.8 percent at 24 rupees, while the benchmark Bombay index fell 0.93 percent.
