TRIPOLI, Libya, Feb 19, 2005 (PANA) — Eritrean President Issaias Afeworki has hailed Libyan leader Moammar Kadhafi for the “positive results” he helped the African Union (AU) attain at the recent extraordinary AU Summit in Abuja, Nigeria.

Afeworki’s commendation was contained in a message to Kadhafi his special envoy Lamine Lamine delivered Thursday to the deputy secretary of the Libyan general popular committee of external affairs and international cooperation, Said Hefyana.

According to Libyan official sources, President Afeworki also spoke highly of the “active contributions” of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) in strengthening the AU and its programmes.
