Sudanese vice-president to visit Ethiopia Friday

KHARTOUM, Feb 24, 2005 (SUNA) — First Vice-President Ali Ali Osman Mohamed leaves Friday for Addis Ababa on a one-day visit to Ethiopia.

The Sudan News Agency (SUNA) learned that Taha would discuss, during his visit to Ethiopia, with Prime Minister Meles Zenawi bilateral relations and means of boosting and developing them further, as well as issues of mutual concern.

He will also hold talks with the chairman of the African Union (AU) Commission, Alpha Oumar Konari, on the developments in Darfur and the role that the AU could play, besides the arrangements currently underway for the convening of the coming round of peace talks in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, between the government and the arms holders in Darfur.
