The remarks came after formal talks today with Minister of Public Works and State Minister for Housing Affairs, Bader Al-Hmaidi, and a host of ministry undersecretaries and officials, state authorities’ representatives and private sector representatives.
In return, the official pointed out Sudan can contribute in the fields of agricultural and food produce and production. The minister also urged Kuwaiti investment in factories, hotels, agriculture and livestock, and infrastructure in general.
Minister Al-Hmaidi for his part praised the great success in changing the infrastructure in Sudan. He revealed the cabinet approved a request over equipment to aid the agriculture sector in Sudan and arrangements are being taken prior to the export.
On the home front, he pointed out the projects to be tackled as part of the 2004-06 budgets include major ventures in the fields of sewage systems and water. This is at a cost of USD six billion, he added.
Apart from Failaka, Boubyan Port, motorways development and Jaber Al-Ahmad Bridge to connect the north and south parts of the country, the minister said there are projects for a state of the art stadium, a national library, subways and many other important projects on the agenda.
