Pakistan invited to revamp Sudan healthcare system

KARACHI — “We have requested the Pakistan government to improve the health system in Sudan”, said the Minister of Health, Sudan, Dr Ahmad Bilal Osman, at a reception held by College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) on Wednesday.

Representatives of other countries including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, Sudan, Nepal, Singapore, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Kuwait were also present. The minister also visited the college and talked to the doctors, surgeons, and paramedical staffers.

He said, “I requested the Pakistani traders and pharmaceutical companies to supply their products and also install pharmaceutical factories in Sudan.

He also said that Indian products were freely available in his country and Indian businessmen and traders controlled the whole market. He also said that our government had attained control over polio and there has been no polio victim for the last two years.

He said that he is also requested the Pakistan government to transfer the actual information, bio-pharma networking and strategic alliance, particularly transfer of technology in their country.

He also said that there was huge potential for Sudan and Pakistan to co-operate with each other and share their expertise in the pharmaceutical industry and other departments of medical field.
