Sudanese sugar company registers peak production
DAKAR, Senegal, Apr 7, 2005 (PANA) — Sudan’s Kenana Sugar Company recorded its
highest production in the 2003-2004 season, posting 428,000
tonnes.
In terms of growth, Kenana leads 63 other sugar factories in the
world’s largest sugar producing states.
“This positive outcome was as a result of mobilising all
capabilities at all stages of production,” said a report by
American sugar experts.
The report attributes the accomplishment to efficiency in the
administration, continuous support by the board of directors and
shareholders, training and maintenance of equipment.
It said Kenana was a model for joint Arab investment.
Sudan currently chairs the International Sugar Organisation and
is set to host an international sugar meeting in May.
