Al-Bashir hails Malaysia’s support for economic development in Sudan

MBABANE, Swaziland, Aug 16, 2003 (SUNA) — The president of the republic Gen Umar al-Bashir has commended Malaysia’s stances and continuing support to economic development in Sudan.

President Al-Bashir has also appreciated the joint political coordination at bilateral, regional and international levels.

This came when the president met on the sidelines of the Smart Partnership Summit with Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

The meeting discussed arrangements to convene the Islamic summit conference in next October in Malaysia.

The meeting was held within the progressive cooperation between the two countries, said President Al-Bashir, pointing to the Malaysian Petronas company’s contribution in Sudan.
