Sudan, Ethiopia upgrade joint ministerial committee
ADDIS ABABA, April 12, 2005 (SUNA) — Sudanese president Omer Al-Bashir and Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi held a meeting on the sidelines of the Summit Conference of East African countries in Addis Ababa Monday and discussed bilateral relations and decided upgrading the joint ministerial committee between the two countries into a higher committee under their chairmanship.
Al-Bashir briefed Prime Minister Zenawi on developments in Darfur.
They also discussed the role of IGAD in Somalia. President Al-Bashir also met with Djibouti’s President Omer Gaili and congratulated him for his reelection as president of his country and affirmed keenness on boosting the relations between the two countries.
Al-Bashir also met Somali President Abdalla Yousif and reviewed developments in Somali and efforts exerted for bringing security and stability in the country.
