Sudanese Interior minister holds talks with Interpol chief on terrorism
Khartoum, Aug 18, 2003 (SUNA) — Minister of Interior Maj-Gen Abd al-Rahim Muhammad Husayn discussed with the visiting secretary-general of the International Police Organization (Interpol), Mr Ronald Kenneth Noble, means of cooperation between Sudan and the organization specially in the fields of combating terrorism and organized crime.
The minister affirmed during the meeting Sudan’s cooperation with the international community in combating terrorism and its commitment to the international agreement for combating terrorism.
The Interpol secretary-general pledged support to Sudan in the technical fields. Mr Ronald Kenneth Noble visited Monday the site of Al-Shifa pharmaceutical plant which was destroyed by the American missiles in 1998 and inspected some units of the Interior ministry and the national Interpol office.
Director of the national Interpol office Brig Muhammad Muhammad Ali said in a statement to SUNA that Sudan obtained membership of the executive office of the Interpol in 1997.
