Sept 24, 2005 (KHARTOUM) — The newly appointed Wali (governor) of South Kordofan State, Ismail Khamis Jalab, was sworn in Saturday before the President Omer Al-Bashir.
The Wali said that the priorities of his government include the implementation of the peace agreement, rehabilitation and development, patching up the social fabric and enhancement of services for the state’s citizens, especially that South Kordofan was greatly affected by the war.
He further said that the partnership between the National Congress and Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) is based on cooperation, rather than competition.
