US Jewish say concerned by contradictory statements on Darfur genocide

June 19, 2009 (NEW YORK) — American Jewish World Service (AJWS) said concerned by the contradictory signals sent by Obama administration to identify the magnitude of what has taken place and continues to occur on the ground in Darfur.

Statements made by the US envoy to Sudan about the issue of genocide in Darfur raised the anger of a number of officials and rights activists. Also, the leader of a Darfur rebel group, Abdel-Wahid Al-Nur slammed Gration’s statements.

The AJWS, long engaged besides other nongovernmental groups to press US Administration to consider Darfur atrocities as genocide said “it is dangerous to disagree in public about whether the genocide continues” while the affected population still suffering from the ongoing conflict and lack sufficient food and drinking water.

Scott Gration said on Wednesday that the Sudanese government is no longer engaging in a “coordinated” campaign of mass murder in Darfur. “What we see is the remnants of genocide. What we see are the consequences of genocide, the results of genocide.”

“What is essential is that we get assurances that the full complement of humanitarian aid has been completely restored and that the Obama administration recognizes that the status quo of the past seven years is unacceptable,” said AJWS president Ruth Messinger.

The American Jewish body expressed hopes that next week meeting on the CPA implementation would end successfully to enable Obama administration to “focus immediately on negotiating, as well, for a viable peace in Darfur. Failure to do so will only lead to more death and displacement”

US Jewish say concerned by contradictory statements on Darfur genocide
I was told by one of commentators in this website that I am wrong about Obama’s approaches in Sudan. The comment maker went on to ask me to provide my mailing address to enable them send me Obama policies toward Sudan and how those policies can bring an end to Dafur Genocide.

I am not a politician nor an expert, but I have carefully followed what Arabs and Americans decision makers have been doing in Sudan civil wars in the last twenty years.

Now, Mr. Obama’s instructed Envoy Mr. Gration has clearly said what I anticipated that Obama administration has adopted appeasement policy toward NIF regime in all Sudan’s outstanding hot issues.

I will not be surprised tomorrow if Scott Gration is going to announce the lifting of Sudan off USA terrorist list. Not only that Mr. Gration praised the NIF goverment for what it did in Darfur, he will also surprises those who say Obama is an Angel by naming all Dafur Resistance Movements as Terrorist organisations.

Obama’s administration is a real disaster for human rights in the so-called Arab world especially in Sudan.

Despite Obama ally with Arab and Muslim human butchers, African resistance movements will prevail because God stands by justice. This dictator regime may be able to tight international community’s hands back with the assistance from Obama, but Obama will go and another human right friend president will come even it takes eight years.

I am not saying Obama should fight NIF regime in Sudan, what I am saying is that he must stop his appeasement policies. It doesn’t make sense at all to say “there is a genocide, but the genocide has been perpetrated by government’s sponsor militia and not by the government”

Mr. Gration should clearly say that this genocide is acceptable to Obama’s administration instead of beating the bush.
