October 25, 2009 (RUMBEK) — The Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) forces in Raja County of Western Bahr-El-Ghazal state has managed to free 46 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from Darfur abducted by Ugandan rebel Lord Resistant Army (LRA).

Southern Sudanese IPDs who have fled their homes during raids by Lord’s Resistance Army (AFP)

LRA rebels attacked a camp of Darfur IPDs at Kor-El-Madia village, Raja County, in Western Bahr al-Ghazal state which has a long border with the troubled region of Darfur. The Ugandan rebels during their evening attack on October 21 killed three policemen from southern Sudan and two civilians.

"Today, Kor-El-madia is celebrating the return of 45 abductees who were finally reunited again with their families after they had being hostages of the troops of notorious LRA Joseph Konyi," said the spokesperson of the southern Sudan army, Maj General Kuol Diem Kuol.

The number of the abducted IDPs from Kor-El-madia was unknown but yesterday the SPLA forces who were pursuing the LRA rebel, managed to get them as the LRA rebels run away leaving all the abductees people plus looted properties, he stressed.

Kuol said that among the 46 abducted people there was one autochthon from the region. "They forced him to guide them in their movement in the region threatening to kill him if he fails to show them directions," he added.

However, the southern Sudan army spokesperson denied the capture of LRA members saying "No, the SPLA failed to arrest anyone of the Ugandan rebels, they have run away with three rifles confiscated from the three policemen killed during 21 October attack."

He disclosed that more troops were already been dispatched to hunt the LRA rebels, adding the SPLA also will deploy more troops to protect civilians in southern Sudan.

The attack on Raja raises fears about the extension of the LRA activities to other parts of southern Sudan. The rebels increased also their attacks on civilians in the greater Equatoria province, particularly in the Western Equatoria state.

Ugandan, Congolese and Southern Sudan armies carried out an important military operation against the LRAcamps in Garamba forests of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Central Africa last December when Joseph Kony refused to sign a peace deal brokered by southern Sudan.

The reemergence of the LRA in different parts of southern Sudan may force the SPLA to consider an appropriate riposte, said a military source in southern Sudan.

that’s what the South People Liberation Army (SPLA) for, protecting civilians from internal and external problems. but I feel sorry for them sometimes because it took some of them 3 to 4 months to recieve their monthly salaries.

Spokesman of SPLA, Commander Kuol Deim Kuol is a liar,

I have talked to three different people from different tribes currently staying in Wau, Western Bahr el Ghazal state.

Here is the true story of the so-called abductees: These people were not abducted by the LRA at all. But their nearby villages were attacked by the LRA some days back and they fled the area and assembled in another village. The true name Kuol Deim Kuol should have called them is Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), but not abductees. LRA never abandoned its abductees. This is why there was no even a single bullet shot between SPLA and LRA in rescuing the so-called abductees.

The question is why didn’t SPLA spokesman Kuol Deim Kuol call them IDPs who were previously displaced as a result of the LRA attacks? The answer is simple to my guess. SPLA has been under pressure that they don’t fight the LRA. So Kuol came up with this distorted and fabricated news of the so-called rescue mission with the hope to get credit, but instead ended up an insulting hoax by the army. The people I talked to in Wau were suprised to read it in the internet. Shame!

One thousand SPLA soldiers managed to free 46 IDPs, but without wounding one LRA fighter. That is incredible.LRA incursion saga as narrated by Kuol Diem must be a hoax.O Good, protect South Sudanese from incompetent corrupt liars.Anyway Iam also happy for the coming back of poor IDPs,no matter how and who forced them out of their safety camp, wheather they were LRA or some locally organized gangs group as it used to be the case in other places of South Sudan.

    • 26 October 2009 16:00, by Tuaks

Kony and his gangs are dead meats, Thank you SPLA, God bless you.

  • 26 October 2009 04:46, by Mr Famous Big_Logic_Boy

Beautiful work, if dinkas government is always capable of maintaining security then there will no be any problems in South. For now Kiir should learn from this example done by Hon Igga and Dr Riek, they have send the SPLA forces to resuce those victims of LRA not Kiir. Dinkas boy don’t sing like a mad chicken, the job was done by none dinkas so please send your thanks to the intelligent leaders from Equatoria and Nuer, don’t fool with simba long the way from Malakia to Munuki.

    • 26 October 2009 05:22, by Dinka Boy

Mr Logic_boy is residing in Khartoum washing Bashier and Riek Gai toilets and latrines. What do mean by non-Dinka?. Non-Dinka are Southerners. Please don,t connect Igga with Riek because they are difference. Wani Igga was suppose by on top of Riek but he is so humble. My friend Riek Macahr can not send troops unless if he defected again from SPLM.
My friend do not think that the Troops in Juba, Jonglei division8 ,Matip Militias, and Bentiu are the only soldiers in the South. How do you think about the great Bhar El Ghazels towns.
      Thanks

Please don’t post lies here. Whom did you talk to in Wau? Can you give me their names and contact numbers to confirm your lies from Bentiu? Please lie in Bentiu but don’t extend lies to WBS. I am currently in Wau, and nobody will even bother talking to you from Wau like that especially when you introduce yourself to be Nuer.

if you know all about LRA, then you are part of groups killing civilians, looting and stealing.

There are only three people in charge of the SPLA, that is our hero who fought with Arabs in Anya nya 1 and Anya nya 2 Salva Kiir, Nhial Deng and James Hoth the only man from Nuer tribe.

LRA will be destroyed and killed all of them stupid animals, Ugandans Army also we need to keep watch of them too, we do not want them to pretend to be LRA while they also go around and kill civilians like they use to do before some years ago, can this LRA and UPDF take thier fight to Uganda please.

I have an important question how does the LRA, which is a poorly equipt army with no military navigational equipments or skills, no maps or even no cars, how do they move very fast along the large long distances land between Sudan, to Congo, to Central African republic in just days or hours, with such swiftness and how do they know the jungle roads between All this countries?

I smell something fishy from Ugandan Army or this someone working as LRA rebels, SPLA keep watchout on both groupsd on this Ugandan Army not to stab you in the back while they pretending to be LRA, both of them need to focus on solving their problem instead of killing foriegners.

    • 26 October 2009 06:59, by pata mike

ThisThe commander is lying; How can you free abductees without fighting/ or did the abductersabandon the older abductees and after carrying thier loads? I beleive this abduction was carried out by people from Bahr El GAhzel Region after all the speak the same language with the core LRA

    • 26 October 2009 07:02, by Mike Mike

Let them go to hell we don’t need them any more to stay in South sudan they better go and fight in their country side. How can they come to stick in our region meanwhile this is not the right place where they were claiming their right?. LRA are mad people especially their leader Joseph is very folks and toothless rebel leader. One must to be reasonable then to do something which you have no confident with.

  • 26 October 2009 07:03, by pata mike

i do not think the SPLA rescued anyone. This story is a haoax intended to cover up shame

    • 26 October 2009 07:30, by okucu pa lotinokwan

Great job, done by the SPLA soliders.LRA should put into their mind that their days are already counted, doing alway bad things to the citizen in every part of the area they get into make them to nowhere but their numbers are deminising, soon they will get finish no worry.Joseph Kony why don,t go to Khartoum for safety to your uncle Omar Bashir than fighting for a war without Objectives.Salva Kiir Maradit, send more soliders to liberate any LRA forces from any part of the south Sudan or even beyond.

    • 27 October 2009 00:54, by parajok

SPLA itself is worse than LRA, the story is more then a hoax. No gang can rescued people from others gang. Dinkas stop playing with human life. shame on you.

  • 26 October 2009 07:09, by Time1

    pata mike,

how can LRA rebels and terrorists, with no vehicles, no maps, no petrol, no helicopters, no food, how can they run away with more than 46-50 civilians? are they carrying them in their back and running with them, how are they doing that when the SPLA gallant forces are coming after the LRA? so the LRA or whoever pretender this animals are who kidnap innocent people am sure when they heard and saw SPLA coming for them they left the kidnapped civilians then they fleed for their life and hide in their holes like Saddam hussein but they will be smoked out soon.

  • 26 October 2009 07:42, by Oduck Bol

Good job from SPLM party . That is what we want. It is not just sitting in the offices that is count but how many problems you solve or good things you did for people you lead that is count.

    • 26 October 2009 08:13, by DASODIKO

Dinka Bor are originally Fur,but due to their teeth being plugged out they pronounced the F AS B. The good example is in Math of counting things. one (Tok), in Dinka. Tok in Fur, two (Rau) in Fur Au. Four Gal in Dinka, in Fur Ogal,. so where is the difference? Well done SPLM/A you have saved your brothers. South Sudan and Darfuris are one nation. oeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee,

  • 26 October 2009 08:11, by CatBlue

Congratulation SPLA, this is what is needed to be done to these fucken LRA, coward soldiers who don’t want to fight their war in Uganda. Did SPLA ever fought any war in Uganda during the time of civil in the Sudan? Soon the civilians in West Equatroria will be given free arms and you(LRA) will see.

Pata Mike, it seems you were not feeling well in your mentality according to the way you speak on this web. SPLA movement is capable to do any thing in any field and that is why you see Southerners are now sharing powers with Northerners. So what do you think my dear SPLA soldiers are not able to do at this moment?. You are a very big white lier who i don’t find around on this world and i warned you if you are a person who sense then when you see some thing concerning SPLA don’t comment anything about it again. No thanks.

      • 26 October 2009 10:44, by Ajongtar

KUOL DIEM KUOL is a greater liar; I disqualify him of being a big liar.
That’s why I said Mr. Kuol should take appropriate action against his M.I reporters of giving him false report because they are after corruption.
Mr. Kuol Diem must stop nepotism in military steps so that he should not end up receiving false report.
Mr. Diem should organize training upon his M.I reporters.

The reporters who are giving him the information’s are the people who looted and abducted the abductees.
Kuol Diem you talked of integrating the SPLA from Gorilla soldier to modern soldiers of the nation.
The question is. when will you motivate the SPLA from laying the public with false report?
        Shem on you

I absolutely agree with you Mr.Gatwech Mr. Diem should have called those as internally displaced people but not abductees.

      To Geywhat.
Getwhat, can you please kindly give me a good answers to the following questions.

what was a secrets that compal your almighty Reick Machar to leaved Kharoum for Kenya after his blind agreement that he signed with Bashir in 1997, was there any danger for his life in his Hotal accommodation after agreemnt?

after he cameback peacfully from immnant death and will say again after he cameback peacfully from his imminent death to joint the SPLA that was his enemy and sudan army beside him with enough money and enough food to fight the SPLA which he work for today, please tells us what did he found in Khartoum and why he have left?

Rieck Machar has a lucky enough man, he has been resorted back again as third person as he work as vice chairman today leaving behind Comrade Wani Igga and comrade Malek Agar who are legitimate members since formation of SPLA movement, did SPLA done something wrong in 2002 after magnenitute destruction he cause with Khartoum army aganist south sudan people was that stupid of SPLA leadership?

now people of South Sudan and Government of South Sudan have enough information that your almightly Rieck Machat again is in secert contact with his Master Lam Akol to destroy the Government that you have criticie its army Job when they saved chilrens that their images above, is that away some people like you want to Khartoum again and comeback after one year later?.

I know you will not be happey with what I have just remainded you with but I’M not a fisrt one to say this but your history in Sudan say that if you have forgoten.

fruther more we know that Lam Akol is working day anight to brinig his boy Rieck Machar back to say like what he said before.

"I have managed to bring out Riceck Machar from SPLM/A" Lam Kok was telling this to late Gen Zuber Mohammed Salah in Fashooda in 1997.

and for your knowledge I everyone Know what you tryied every time to get through it regarding Rieck Machar, but remember the answer of that is with people of South Sudan and that time is till farawy no need to talk for that now.

but please don’t take my advice in Nuer mentality but take them according to your Histoty.

In the past the NCP have been ivestageted for providing arms and funding to the LRA to destabalize South Sudan, there is no principle benifit for the LRA to operate in Sudan other than the $$$$, serouisly why else would a group which was started by some lady who dispised the Ugandan govt and wanted to replace the Uganadan govt attack South Sudan who bare no relation to thier orginal cause, Its a plan by the Souths enemies and they are using our oil money, God help us, God bless us and God willing they will not win.

      • 26 October 2009 14:49, by mohammed ali

Thanks Brave Heart !!! These people do not know the map of Sudan !!!They said the LRA was heading towards the Congo borders!!! It is about 700 km !!! how can they reach there, and how can they run away from there?! How many days it will take them to do so?All of this without cars, vehicles, logistic and stratigic support!!!It is funny!

  • 26 October 2009 14:56, by alvin ajou

Exactly, thats what our fellow brothers in the SPLA should do to protect our people instead of wasting time listening to that thing called paulino matip who looted our resources and gave them to Arabs to become more stronger and stronger as if they have fucked his mother.

      WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEMS GUYZ?

Whether People where displaces, captured or kidnapped by LRA & they are now been re-united with their families,so what is a big deal,

SPLA forces who resued them were sent by Riek,Wani & so post is also good, they forces that chased away they LRA gangs were non-Dinkas,find,they army were send from Bentiu,Equartoria or Pangak brilliant.SPLA is a Dinka army, fantastic.Mr Dim is a good liar or not wonderful.

Now,who have ever been out from this fake website? i believe majority of U dont even know how to load the gun leave alone firing or killing someone but always been hypocritical.

This is the time you must learns how to appreciate & accepts the fact that these innocent people were either captured by LRA or other notorious gangs within SS.

BRAVO,SPLA FOR SHOWING YOUR TRUE ONUS.

  • 26 October 2009 17:06, by Time1

    Ali

Alot of you made a good point, how does LRA, with their bare foot, no vehicles, no maps, no knowledge of the region move across 1000mile area just within hours or days? Is that really position? That means this so called LRA are getting support from a more organized highly equip person.
I am pointing my fingers at the Ugandan Army or the called UPDF , i think they are the one killing civilians so they can taint the image of the LRA because they want the whole region to support them to fight the LRA so that is why they the Ugandan Army is secretly covering up as LRA and killing civilians so the international community can joint them to fight LRA, it is a smart strategy but this is also terrorism by them which ICC should investigate, also SAF could be involve who knows, SPLA intelligence need to do more extra job when dealing with Ugandan Army,LRA and Arabs.

SPLA keep watching UPDF and SAF movements without them knowing, you will know if any of them is also involved in killing civilians then report to ICC immediately so they can join Omer Bashir and Joseph kony.

    • 26 October 2009 19:39, by mohammed ali

I will go with you a step forward; although the SAF has withdrawn completely from the south and there are 10, 000 UN forces in the South and 20,000 UN forces in Darfur monitering any military avtivity,I will agree with you ..SAF could be a possible culprit in supporting the LRA.But this poses some questions to be answered:

1- Why did the SPLA accused the LRA in the first instance?

2-Would the SAF help them to escape Northward or Southward?

Logic, critical thinking and honesty will tell you there is cover up!! The big question will be who? and why? This I will leave it to you.

  • 27 October 2009 00:36, by Otim

Country men,we have been debating this LRA attacks and abduction recently, can any right minded person agree to this turn of events?Rescue with out a single bullet, none of LRA captured? Those those in the pictures looked abducted or been carrying any heavy loads?I can see clean, healthy smiling people in the pictures.

I think the all saga been staged to get more support againts the LRA.If what we read about LRA,that they are brutall, cut their victims then am very suprised how these people look very happy and healty. There is alot of politics being played in our area with UPDF ever getting deeper in South Sudan,i am not very suprise if we get a permanent base of UPDF stuck in South Sudan.
    Otim

Its better to be frightened, than to be uncertain about the truth. To be frank, those in the picture are not Darfurians, Am sure this picture was, when woman gathered in the health program called Hand washing day,it was in Bahr el Ghazal. So Deim, you are still under supervision, don’t be a liar, try to give us Accurate reports.
Long live south sudan, long live SPLA.

    • 27 October 2009 18:46, by mohammed ali

You are absolutely right, these are not Darfurian women, Darfurians dress in the SUDANESE ( TOUB) which cover all their body, and they do not comb their hair this way, mostly they use the old type combing of( mushat) except for the new generations living in the towns!!!

      It is a shame !!!
