USSP set to contest WES’s four legislative seats

By Richard Ruati

January 30, 2010 (YAMBIO) — The United South Sudan Party’s members aim to contest WES’s legislative seat in the April election as part of public relation drive to win a seat in Western Equatoria this year.

The pro-independent south Sudan party will use the April election campaign to gain publicity for the upcoming referendum election in 2011, where they believe they can win a national list seat.

Western Equatoria constituencies will be some of the key battlegrounds for USSP.

Reliable sources from the party admit they will win in April, with the hope to boost their support and will be fielding candidates against SPLM and NCP contenders.

Very little is known about USSP (United South Sudan Party) in the political scene of the Sudan but recently the Party’s leader Mr. Clement Mbugoniwia together with his Deputy Mr. Brian Badi Demus arrived Yambio to submit the names of their candidates for the April elections. The party was established immediately after the CPA with the objective of an independent South Sudan. Speaking to a group of youth in Yambio, Mr. Badi said; we have come here to submit the names of our nominees to NEC.

"We want to tell the people of South Sudan that there need to be a new beginning for the South in general and WES in particular that is why we are going to contest to go to the SSLA and SLA for a genuine change", Mr. Badi stated.

Asked why USSP uses the word South Sudan not southern Sudan, he stated that by using the word ‘southern’ Sudan, we still want to be part of the big Sudan which is not what USSP stands for. "We have nothing to do with the rest of the Sudan", he stated. "All what we need is a total independent state in the South" said Mr. Demus.

Mr. Brian was also asked if there is any link between them and any other parties like SPLM or NCP. He stated that USSP has no link with any party in the country and continued by saying that USSP acknowledges the struggle of the people of south Sudan led by the SPLM and SPLA that gave birth to the CPA.

In this respect, every citizen in south Sudan contributed to the struggle in their own ways including those in the Diaspora without the international community would not have known much about the war and suffering of the people of south Sudan stated Mr. Badi Demus

Regarding the NCP, Mr. Brian said; USSP will never go to Khartoum and take money from parties like NCP to finance its political activities because he believes that by taking money from a group in northern Sudan and claiming that USSP stands for an independent South Sudan will be a total contradiction to the party’s principals.

He warned that any politician who takes money from the north thinking that they can come to the south and claim that he/she can use that money and still claim for independence of south Sudan is not only deceiving the people of south Sudan but committing political suicide because the person who gives the money is not naïve to leave you be free to do what you want to do.

"We want to remain as poor as we are and work for an independent South Sudan which has no room for tribalism, corruption and nepotism because south Sudan belongs to all south Sudanese people he stated."

Mr. Brian state that his Party has nominated 4 candidates for WES; the Party leader Mr. Clement Mbugoniwia to run in greater Tambura for SSLA, Mr. Alison Martin Manguriko to contest in Yambio for SLA and Mr. Alison Barnaba in Maridi for SLA and himself Brian Badi Demus for SSLA in greater Mundri.

Those who are less loyal to SPLM comprehend democracy in different format.
They conceived it as away of getting money, and no more than that.

My question to them is this? Where were those money hunters during the war.
Please you guys need to shut up at this moment because this is not the time for democracy, it is atime for fighting the common enemy till 2011.
I believed that the democracy will began after 2011 whereby we will all get free from the common enemy. you people like USSP chariman(Clement Mbugoniwia), this is my first time to heard your name today because you are comming out from the hole like rate. Please shut up.

The so called USSP have already grow languishing for their criminal act death to them

    • 30 January 2010 03:23, by Ambago

      Dear the so-called Dinka boy

There is a need for you to understand that south Sudan didn’t come into existence only in 1983 when SPLM/A was conceived. And the right to being a south Sudanese is not going to be granted by you or those who think like yourself.

Nobody is looking for any money, after all you and your greedy leadership have looted the whole south, and yet you are not ashamed to talk as if you’re representing an honesty group.

The democracy you want to avoid today is right an integral part of the CPA, which stresses democratic transformation and elections.

SPLM is a political party and if there is war nobody fights as a party. We either fight as an army or as individual fighters.

Anyway you may be too young to reflect the true struggle of the south Sudanese nation, but hopefully USSP will help you and many others to see the bigger picture of the South Sudan you take for granted.

This is an election season, and you are rightly looking worried, however those you are despising are very clean nationalists (never took part in the grain scandal, nor the NCB scandal, nor appeared in ghost names, nor smuggled public money abroad, nor in relationship with the Arab north, nor in association with corrupted people in Juba) and they are of the finest calibre the south has produced.

      Dr. JAC Ramba, MD.

Sorry big mouth Dr! this site is not meant for medical experts but this was initially initiated for veiws and comments dedicated to those cementry laugters who are chasing money.

for your information, anti-SPLM/A politicians are worthless, the dead south sudanese loyal who gives their life are worth important than you fat ass Jac Dr. and many other money hunters, your aim is money but you don’t even know what is money and what is accounting! i have lost my trust because i am 100% suspicious and full of doubts. you are simple people, the deads are watching you throughout your lifespan and corruption. you are using straw to suck but thier lives and soul watches you! big mouth You dirty greedy politicians. Thanks man.

That is the good point you give since you were born we need more people should write like that and we will see one day Dinka government will change.

      • 30 January 2010 04:13, by Dinka Boy

I want to assure you that democracy is not an easy thing to impliment. It need spare time which less then rashing. I can not blame you when you support South Sudan opposition parties, but you have to understand that you will not stop looting, raiding, corruption, nepotisim, tribalism and many others in 2010.
A critical thinker can think beyond his eyes level. If you do not know the trick of this independent group, then let me tell dear that the aim come as the indirect system of creating chaos in the South by the enemy of peace includding you.

I know that the CPA come as the struggling of SPLM and no doubt about that. In fact, it seem that my question use to disapear on your ears, but i can tell you that those who are less loyal to SPLM will cry and cry loud, but the democracy will be availiable after 2011 whereby we know that all witness the independent of South Sudan, but not at the moment. Please let me be frank to you that, any traitor or weak heart struggling for power of money has no room in SPLM because we want Southerners get freed once and for all in this 2010-2011 without any alterations. SPLM knows these opposition parties were our enemies since the war. They have been collaborating with Khartoum government ideologically and physically through militray.

Second question, why not these parties not join SPLM when they were in the Bush. Mr Ambago, I know that the war was not began in 1983,but SPLM brought this victory that you are enjoying now. My friend, life is very complicated because it can not be satisfied whether you have nothing or when you have everythings. My friend, i have been trained in 1989 and fought towns in the South, which i can not tollerate the suffering we get to the traitors. Why not you guys don,t bring reforcement if you guys were Southen parties.

I believed that the independent candidates are widely spread across now because everone is looking for money. No more than that, but they are not loyal to the party. Finally, I am SPLm soldier trained in 1989 who fought in many south towns, and still loyal to SPLM. Moreover, iam 34 years now know that way.
Please i don,t support the independecy in the south at this time(2010-2011).

You talk lunatic thing my friend.Dinka Boy was right to say let wait until we defeat the common enemy(Arab). Some time people of your kind interpreted the CPA in wrong way.SpLM/A is the one who brought the CPA. And the reason the CPA was sign is to defense the right of the people of south sudan until the had thier independent state.

I will still repeat the question Mr Dinka Boy you for.Where were the so called USSP during the war between south and the north? In common sense you can not claimed somebody’s work to be yours by force.I never see such thing in my life. But people like you who are using stomach instead of brian may think democracy is already there.

But I have knew for you dog,you better go back to khartoum and support bashir that ’s the only way you may succeed in the north not in the south my friend.

South sudan will remain as it is until the independent of the south ring like mighty wind in the sea, than we gonna scrutinized your background before you will join the SPLM/A.Don’t wast your time my friend ,you lost your life for something you don’t have in it.You did not fought with the SPLM/A neither did you been helping them to donate anything to them. The govt you called corrupt govt, they had fouht for that you called corruption. The majority of Dinkas loose thier life for the betterment of the people. And Dinkas has right to enjoyed the work of thier sacrifice.Go to hell or killed your self before we will send you to the world of no return.Thank

          Mr Johnmaker,

          Thanks alot.
I don,t really know where this Dr Justin Ambago get his degree from. I think those are people who just get easy degrees online form those institutions which has lack of intereactions with each others. He earns his degree online dear brother, nevermind about his education.

  • 30 January 2010 03:58, by James John

I really feel so happy when I see someone form new Party, Some people out there think that, the only party is Southern Sudan is SPLA. My dear brother and sister by all mean we should vote this so called SPLA/M away. I don’t think Dinka is not the only cultures in Southern Sudan and they want SPLA to be for them, then Let us give it to them.

I this is just beginning, we will see by the time of referendum when Southern Sudan get it independent and that is when the Dinka will start to cry.

    • 30 January 2010 04:17, by SPLA

      James John,

You cannot vote the SPLM away because you never voted them it in the first place. SPLM came to power using gun muzzles and SPLM right now still controls the SPLA, its military wing. What do you think happen to SPLM military wing? SPLM will never hesitate to use military force if the future of south Sudan is put in jeopardy either by Khartoum or anybody else.

The only party that will guarantee the freedom of Southerners is the SPLM. Forget the other parties, they do not have the means to fight for south Sudan. You will need to fight the SPLM/A in order to get to the top seat in South Sudan.

      • 30 January 2010 04:24, by James John

My friend I want to correct you there, Every cultures in Southern Sudan have it people there in the SPLA/ Army. When it come to fight do u think where will SPLA will start the war?

May they will start in Bor or unity States......and remember those who live in border they have both side and lot of people will suffer.

      • 30 January 2010 04:41, by wang

I greed with you James. many people have lost their interest from that Party call SPLM

        • 30 January 2010 04:51, by Dinka Boy

We knows that you and likes loss interest in SPLM since 1991 ,then why not you choose to defect again , stayed in SPLM ,or kill yourself as simple as that.

    • 30 January 2010 04:36, by Dinka Boy

      James John,

If you think SPLM is for Dinka then go an form your own party as simple as that.

        To Dinka Boy,

        Your comments is childish,

The USSP Chairman is well educated man who can bring change and stop corruption therefore, you should not bring your Dinka’s madness against him!!

Our Famous Logic-Boy has changed but you are still maintaining your animal’s behavious. Does it mean someone who grew on animal’s milk cannot change???

        Brother in Christ,

        Bust 2

        • 30 January 2010 06:59, by Dinka Boy

He was coming out from the hole like arat. Please i want hi if he is loyal to SPLM after 2011 not now.
Anybody who hate SPLM is my pure enemy.

      • 30 January 2010 06:23, by Dinka Dominated SPLA
