December 22, 2014 (JUBA) – South Sudanese vice president, James Wani Igga, visited Nimule, a strategic town at Uganda border on weekend to brief locals on security situation following massive exodus from the area.

Igga, flanked by national security minister Isaac Mamuor Mete and high ranking army officers from Eastern Equatoria state, told a gathering in Nimule town that fears of an imminent attack by renegade Martin Kenyi were "false".

“There is no any organised rebellion in Eastern Equatoria or on Juba – Nimule road as being rumored,” Igga told a public rally held at St. Patrick primary school on Sunday.

Martin Kenyi, who hails from Eastern Equatoria Pageri, disappeared from Juba early this month allegedly with plans to join rebels led by former vice president Riek Machar.

Although Kenyi has not publicly declared any rebellion, the armed opposition led by Machar recently claimed they were part of a recent attack, which occurred on the 192km Juba-Nimule road towards Uganda. Two commercial trucks were destroyed and a driver injured during the attack, which army officials blamed on bandits.

Mamuor, however, said Kenyi would be found even if his whereabouts were unknown.

“I know every corner of Eastern Equatoria state and every hills. It is better for Kenyi to return home or I will go after him,” said Mamuor.

The top government officials argued the people to remain calm and celebrate their Christmas than fleeing to neighbouring Uganda.

Igga and his team also visited Pageri and Mugali payams among others during the tour.

Malakal nyagat, you really have low IQ and you believe in rumours. Can you tell us who driven you out during first and second day of the fight Juba? If you think Ugandan are one that help us, what about 1991 defeat in present of Dr Nyariek Bashir army?

What i like most, this tribal mind will not go out from South Sudan specially Dinka and Nuer. The so called Chol A claim to be Dinka defeating Nuer in first day and second day in Juba. Is SPLA army only Dinka? Was there no Nuer amongst army? I was in Korwillium when the fighting erupted at 10:00Pm. Nuer soldier defeated combined army(Nuer, Dinka, Equatoria... 63tribes) in the night battle.

Continue... the next morning, they fighting resume early when SPLA reinforcement arrived from various location including Dud ku beny, Gelweng and other location from Eastern equatoria. The fighting continue up to 20:00Pm when SPLA Nuer were defeated becoz no reinforcement the same people who fought at night and also morning!!! Lasting there was pursuit toward our residence at Korwilliam.

Continue... my point here is, WHAT HAPPEN IN 5 Years later or 1 year later after UPDF leave and South Sudan back in peace?

I sure with this mentality, fighting will resume any time between Nuer and Dinka, that will be a true fight b/n Dinka and Nuer so we could see who is loser. NO UPDF helping Dinka, i will be very happy!!

        Malakal
You claim to defeat Dinka but you don’t do it in action. You defeat is not from UPDF.
1 What happened to 1991 attempt?
2 What happened on the 15-17 Dec. 2013 Dinkas were hunting you in our houses in Juba like chicks. You are known for shoot and run.

          Reedemer,

We were not ready for war that time from 15 - 17 Dec 2013 as you said we are know shoot and run!! Like Dinka you prepare for this war, they trains 15000 army, they supply every Dinka in Juba with weapons ...etc a well organized war Nuer didn’t known that why we were haunted in Juba like chicken. what would have happen if Nuer were prepared like Dinka did in Juba. Juba would have fallen.

Continue... Juba would have fallen in that night when same Nuer army defeated mixed army(Nuer, Dinka, equatoria...63tribes). The same small Nuer army fought second day from early morning up to 2Pm when they were repulsed to Korwilliam i was there myself. And the defeat came after your reinforcement came from d/t location(Dut ku beny, Gelweng, and from eastern equatoria etc..)

Reedemer, let me be frank to you brother. You are happy thinking you defeated Nuer in Juba! Come down, the fighting still going on. Even if peace prevail in SS. There is gonna be another fight b/n Dinka n Nuer. If you haven’t fire a bullet this time of war, i am sure you will do in near future. Nuer doesn’t leave thing like this, we never accept defeat in life...we are born brave!!!
