Girls football kicks off in Sudan

Feb 17, 2006 (KHARTOUM) — A friendly football match was played at Sports’ City, Sudan University department of sport and Science, between teams from Tahadi and Sudan University on Saturday. The match, which was the first ever between women’s team in Sudan, ended in a one all draw.

Michael Arkanjelo, Tahadi’s coach, praised the efforts of the players. He expressed the desire to create a skilled team, which he hopes will one day be able to participate in the World Cup.

Majdolem John, the Sudan Football Association’s representative for women, has affirmed the association’s support for the championship.
