Arab League Secretary-General to visit Sudan next month

Dec 23, 2005 (KHARTOUM) — Secretary-General of the Arab League Amr Musa is to arrive here next January on a several-day visit to get acquainted with the ongoing arrangements and preparations for convocation of the Arab summit in march 2006 in Khartoum.

Amr_musa.jpgAssistant Secretary-General for political affairs and the council of Arab League Affairs ambassador Ahmed Bin Hali commended in statement to the state-run SUNA the efforts and arrangements made by the government of Sudan.

He pointed out that the visit of the delegation of Arab league to Sudan comes in the framework of consultations between the government and the General -Secretariat of the Arab league on holding the Arab summit as well as discussing conditions that making the summit a success.

Bin Hali Said the convocation of the Arab and African summits in Khartoum represents the real Arab and African dimensions of Sudan, affirming that all circumstances that make the summit a success are available. It is to be noted that the delegation of the Arab League arrived on Thursday on a several-day visit to Sudan.
