Ethiopian finance minister holds talks in China

Jan 11, 2006 (BEIJING) — In 2005, the trade volume between China and Ethiopia rose 68 per cent to more than 300m US dollars, sources with the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said on Wednesday 11 January.

Vice-Minister of Commerce Wei Jianguo held talks with Minister of Financial and Economic Development of Ethiopia Sufyan Ahmad here Tuesday.

The two sides signed a framework agreement on bilateral economic cooperation after the talks.

The Chinese government attaches great importance to economic and trade relations with Ethiopia, and the two countries should enhance cooperation in mining, infrastructure cooperation and other fields, Wei said.
