The South Sudan Democratic Forum-mainstream Calls on the Sudanese State (North and South) to Protect the CPA and Peace from Internal and External Enemies of the Country

August 8, 2007 — The South Sudan Democratic Forum-mainstream would like to inform the Sudanese people in general, and the people of South Sudan in particular, that it has been closely, following the activities of Democratic Forum members who have recently travel to Khartoum on an invitation from the southern Sector of the National Congress Party (NCP), who acted unilaterally without any knowledge from the leadership and the northern Sector of the NCP. Our sources within the NCP have confirmed to us beyond any doubts that these individuals have engaged in serious subterfuges and acts to enfeeble or could potentially tear down the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) and wreck the interest of the people of South Sudan.

These elements are vigorously, working to revitalize the painful “Kokora” that bitterly divided the people of South Sudan along regional and tribal lines. The said individuals also met with a Western Caucasian, who claimed to be a member of an infamous intelligence agency, at the Khartoum Grand Holiday Vila Hotel. The Western Caucasian revealed in the meeting that his country and the intelligence agency are determined, more than ever, to overthrow the Government of National Unity (GoNU) and the destruction of the Government of South Sudan (GOSS), which they have dubbed as weak dangerous to both regions of the Middle East and East Africa. On a separate meeting, some of these individual have sadly, inveterate their involvement in the “Kokora” killings and the political mess that ensued in Juba between 1982 and 1983.

On August 7, 2007 a committee co-chair by a prominent member of the NCP and one of the Southern Sudanese Canadian, is mandated to device what they have called new approaches for the revitalization of the “Kokora”. This five man committee consists of two persons in Juba, current ancillary employees of South Sudan Legislative Assembly (SSLA), and three others whom we have not confirmed their identities (we will provide their names as soon as they are become available to us). The identified two individuals are assigned to supply intelligence to the committee entrusted for “Kokora” revitalization.

The South Sudan Democratic Forum-mainstream strongly denounces the actions and statements of those individuals and distances itself from Mr. Gordon Buay Reath Chairman of the Canada Branch of the Democratic Form and Dr. Funda who’s also a member of the Canada Branch of the Democratic Forum. No one in Khartoum is mandated to speak or conduct business on behave of the Democratic Forum-mainstream and anyone who would act otherwise shall be consider a forgery. The actions of the said individuals are treasonous, illegal, and threatening to the country’s peace institutions. We therefore, call on the State and the people to put an end to these ill-activates and denigrate such political immaturities that are menacing to the CPA and the peace building.

Peter Jal Ngor

Chairman, South Sudan Democratic Forum-mainstream/USA
