Statement From The Sudan Liberation Movement/Army, Regarding the Recent Visit of The UN Secretary General To The IDPs Camps
September 6, 2007 — The heinous and unethical behavior of the Sudanese Government of refusing to the UN Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki moon to entry Abu Shouk IDPs Camp in Darfur must be condemned by all; and the esteemed Organization has to think seriously about the appropriate measures by which it can protect the dignity of it’s top officials specially in the raw world of Africa, where imposed- regimes understand only the language of force.
On last Wednesday 5th of September 2007, and while the UN Secretary- General on his way to visit Abu Shouk IDPs Camp in Darfur, the Sudanese Security and it’s Police Forces armed to the teeth created human wall between the General Secretary’s motorcade and the IDPs blocking him to reach them.
The Sudan Liberation Movement office in the United States highly condemn Such behavior from the Sudanese Government and it’s Security Forces and regard it a clear violation to the pride and dignity of the UN and to the International laws and norms, and we also condemn the Government’s tactics of trying to inject members of it’s ruling party and the hirelings in the camps to mix- up issues and make the true voices and grievances of the IDPs unheard, as a futile attempts to cover up it’s crimes committed against the voiceless innocent people in the Camps, and accordingly we would like to clarify the following:-
Firstly: We highly condemn the Government’s unethical and barbaric behavior against the person of Mr. General- Secretary to the UN.
Secondly: The Government must allow the General- Secretary to the UN to visit all the areas in his plan in Sudan without any barriers or conditions.
Thirdly: We are kindly requesting his Excellency Mr. Ban Ki moon to bear the arrogant behavior of the Sudan Government and continue his visit to all the IDPs Camps for the sake of our people.
Fourthly: The Government’s media must refrain from disseminating propaganda and false coverage to the events
The Salutation to our vigilant soldiers everywhere.
It’s a liberation until total victory.
