Sudanese army entirely wipes out western rebels groups : official
KHARTOUM, Jan 30, 2004 (Sudan Tribune) — The armed forces General Command has issued a statement yesterday, saying that it has entered the town of Al-Tinah in Darfur repulsed the enemy, secured the town completely and realized security for its citizens who were subjected to killings, fear, and displacement, following looting and anarchy.
The statement issued by the armed forces General Command announced that it had secured and repulsed the enemy from Ayn Siro, as well as the surrounding area, and recaptured Girgira, secured Umm Marahik, entered Ambara, secured Karnoi, which is considered the major base for gangs, the entire area of east Kutum, secured the camps of armed gangs in Abu Gimra and entirely wiped out the enemy groups in the area.
The statement saluted the efforts of the armed forces, the police, the popular forces and defence forces for their responsibility in safeguarding the national security and that of the citizens.
