Ethiopia hunts down 10 suspects in bus bomb blast

March 31, 2008 (HUMORA) — security forces of Ethiopia arrested10 suspects in connection with the deadly bomb attack earlier this month at Ethiopia’s northern Tigray region, western Tigray region police chief disclosed today.
“Our security forces have held 10 suspects who are believed to be involved directly and indirectly on the recent attack over innocent passengers” deputy commander Kahsay Gebrewahid told Sudan Tribune.
“All the arrested suspects are Ethiopians” he said.
The 10 suspects were hunted down after a joint efforts of regional police and residents in and around Humora town, it was learnt.
The official strongly agrees that Eritrean agents are behind the attacks.
“We are under firm investigation to find out the master mind behind the deadly attack” kahsay said adding “but all our investigations so far are leading to the hands of Eritrean agents.”
“We will officially release the coming outs of our investigation in short period of time, once the investigation ongoing is concluded” he said
Since the bomb attack, which is uncommon to the area, Ethiopia has tightened security in Humera and neighboring towns,which could be possible targets of another attack.
The official assured that residents are now safe and government offices, schools, shops and transport service are back into a normal track.
On March 13, a bomb attached to a passenger bus, leaving the bus station of Humera town to shire town went off, leaving at least 8 passengers dead and 27 others wounded.
